How to enable location on photos?

To validate summit photos, Bike Summit needs GPS metadata embedded in the image file.

On iPhone:

1. Open Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Location Services.
2. Turn Location Services on.
3. Tap Camera and choose While Using the App.
4. Take a new photo with the Camera app and try again.

On Android:

1. Open Settings -> Location and make sure Location is on.
2. Open Settings -> Apps -> Camera -> Permissions.
3. Allow the Location permission for the Camera app.
4. Open the Camera app settings and enable location tags if available.
5. Take a new photo with the Camera app and try again.

Why a photo may still have no GPS metadata

Even if the Camera setting is correct, a photo may still not have GPS metadata because:

• it was received via WhatsApp, Messenger, etc. (many apps strip metadata),
• it was edited or exported,
• it was taken with another device,
• location was not available when it was taken.
